Cayman makes the top ten countries the British seek to relocate to

New research published by The Daily Mail has revealed the top 10 countries British people are most interested in moving to, and the results are quite interesting. Topping the list is the USA, while a traditionally popular destination like Spain didn’t make the list. The Cayman Islands made the top ten.

This information comes from relocation experts at 1st Move International, who analyzed their data from 2022 to 2024, showing the most frequent destinations they’ve assisted British expats with.

The most popular destinations included: The United States of America, Australia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Canada, New Zealand, Cyprus, South Africa, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and The Cayman Islands.

With added pressure from the new British Labour Government surrounding non-dom rules, many Brits are looking elsewhere to call home.

Cayman offers the ultimate blend of elegance and tranquility

The USA’s appeal lies in its diverse opportunities and suitability for various life stages, from education and business ventures to simply seeking a new adventure. The absence of a language barrier is also cited as a significant factor in making the transition smoother for UK residents.

Australia comes in second place largely due to its high-quality of living and significantly better weather as key attractions for British expats.

Both of these countries have high taxation costs.

The UAE (with a focus on Dubai’s recent rise in popularity as both a tourist and expat destination), enjoys a sunny climate and modern infrastructure and even though there is no income tax, there is a language barrier.

In our opinion, few places can match the incredible lifestyle and opportunities one finds in the Cayman Islands.

With a robust economy, fabulous cuisine, a warm tropical climate, stunning white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and world-class diving + watersports, Cayman has a lot to offer.

The community aspect of Cayman is unique and wonderful, great healthcare options, excellent education systems and a thriving business environment.

Cayman’s incredible lifestyle and opportunities await

The islands are also a tax-neutral jurisdiction, meaning no income tax, property tax, capital gains tax, or inheritance tax. Combined with a high standard of living, modern amenities, and English as the official language, it’s easy to see why so many people want to call Cayman home.
